Easy to use and well made. I love it!
It's pretty nice. To address the "slop" others have talked about they provide 2 shims now. I put both on and it was too tight, one has a little bit of wiggle. Not real sure if it had less play if that would be a good thing as it would end up too tight. No regrets.
Just got them installed after getting them in earlier today. Love them! My
seat no longer wiggles at all. Who would have thought those small little UHMW
interests would do the trick.
I used 1 of the 2 shims sent. The seat definitely fits better on the stainless steel upright. It is snug without being difficult to attach. It seemed like if I installed both shims I might have difficulty getting the lat seat in place, but I might try that soon. One of the issues I did notice before adding the shim was that the seat would raise a bit on heavier sets when pulling down. This still happens with the shim, but it is less noticeable. I think in order to completely solve this problem, shims designed for the near-side (closest to the person) would have to be added, but it doesn't bother me very much at all. The addition of the shim definitely improves the feel of the seat. I really appreciate you reaching out and sending the shims to improve my experience with your equipment! The Dane has become the focal point of our basement gym and my wife and I love everything that it can do, and I think it's great that you are continuing to try to improve customer experiences with your stuff.
I just did lat pulldowns with the additional UHMW pieces and it made all the
difference. The lat pulldown seat didn’t wiggle at all. Thank you so much!
Just wanted to let you know I've been waiting for these shims since they
were first announced forever ago. I am SOOO happy to finally have them. The
lat pull down seat is rock solid now. It's a joy to use. Thank you!
We absolutely love our Fringe Sport Dane 2.0, along with the Lat Seat and
Row attachments. Your products are so amazing and the equipment are the
smoothest I’ve ever used. It’s a really great product and we are very
pleased with our purchase so far. Looking forward to seeing what else some
out next.
The UHMW worked great. The Lat pulldown is working very well. Really appreciate that you took time to get back to me. Thanks!
It’s working great for me. I do notice the slight movement during lat pull downs, but it’s not an issue.
Also, I use this for leg extensions. I install it in hole #8 and sit backwards (facing away from the Dane). Then I use a resistance band connected to the crossmember in the back, other end to an ankle strap. This has really helped develop the front of my knees and quads. The drawback here is that the seat is not long enough, but hey it wasn’t designed for leg day.
The Lat seat is fantastic, especially with the addition of the Drew to the Dane
I am very happy with the seat
That fix made a huge difference in the seat and I'm very satisfied with it.
lat seat works great
It’s been a great additional to my Dane 2.0
We love the Lat Seat, and use it all the time
I love the seat
Fits and works fine!
Great addition
It's a solid piece of equipment and easy to use
I had issues with the seat being loose but I reached out to the Customer Support team and they sent me extra shims and now its a perfect fit.
When I first received the product I felt ripped off as it rocked on every rep of heavy lat pull downs but after complaining to the company they made it right. They sent out a few shims (that should probably just be shipped with the product) and those shims cause it to squeeze in nice and tight giving the seat no play during a heavy set of lat pull downs.
When I first bought it my experience was bad. The vertical play up and down was noticeable on every single rep. So bad I wished I had just used the Dane without it and put a pipe on my lap with my bench. After I attempted to leave my first review the company contacted me wanting to make things right which in my eyes is an A+ from customer service. After they sent some spacers to make the seat have 0 play in it the thing works like a charm. My only other complaint that would make it a true five star product is a pin that is similar to the spotter arms and trolleys. It really feels unnecessary to have to put a pin in every time to remove all horizontal play when the company designed such good retractable ones.
The seat works well if you're able to bandaid fix the wobble. I have been using a heavy duty door stop to wedge between the upright and the seat. The problem is that I shouldn't have to do that, especially for the price and even more so, since I'm using it with the rack (dane) that it was designed for. For the price I'd personally spend a little more and get a more stable and versatile seat.
Would be much better if the seat had more depth for someone taller.
My only complaint with the seat is that it has a fairly large amount of play and wobble where it attaches to the rack if you’re pulling more than 80 or 90 pounds especially if you’re over 100 it’s gonna pull you up and the seat is gonna wobble heavily and it makes you feel like you’re gonna come up and out of the seat.
I’ve come up with my own little solution of this, and I use a ratchet strap that anchors to the stabilizing extension that sticks out and helps pin the seat down. But I don’t like using this as I feel it will just stress out a different area of the machine overtime.
I feel like it wouldn’t have taken much effort to stick another piece of plastic in there to get this thing to fit more snug or just simply machining this to be more precise for a better fit.
If the wobble was %50 less it would have gotten 4 stars.. just too much play in this thing for the price in my opinion
Does the job , just wish it had a snug fit and didn’t allow a lot of movement
The Lat Pulldown Seat pins onto your 3x3 rack and gives you a proper seated pulldown station. Adjustable leg rollers lock your thighs down so you can pull heavy without lifting off the seat, and it comes off in seconds when you need the rack back.
Tip for a rock-solid fit: rack tubing varies by brand. If the seat has any play on your uprights, email us and we'll get you UHMW shims to snug it up.
You need a cable source above the seat. Options: a rack with a built-in cable system, the Drew Lat Pulldown Extender for 3x3 functional trainers, or the Sidewing Pulley System. Add the Low Row Foot Plate for seated rows.
